TRIBAL CHUNGA FIBER POT — EMBERÁ-WOUNAAN

This handcrafted pot is a true gem of indigenous weaving, representing the tradition and mastery of the Emberá-Wounaan communities of Panama. Hand-woven by artisan Ariane from the Emberá Village, the pot is made from Chunga palm fiber, known worldwide for allowing an extremely tight, firm, and detailed weave. The design features geometric and botanical patterns that tell the story of the tribe's connection to the forest, using organic pigments extracted from nature to create sophisticated contrasts.

Standing 15cm tall, this piece transcends utilitarian function to become a collector's item and a high-end ethnic decorative object. The technique used by Wounaan women is considered one of the most refined in the world, requiring weeks of dedication to interweave each thread with absolute precision. It is the perfect item to bring history, culture, and the elegance of Central American indigenous arts into contemporary environments and mystical art curations.
