The Pakará straw basket with lid is a genuine cultural treasure that celebrates the role of women in Brazilian indigenous art.
The handcrafted baskets made from natural Arumã fiber, originally used as household utensils by the indigenous women of this ethnic group, showcase the beauty of the designs and geometric shapes that take form in the braiding of naturally dyed straw. When handled in its raw state or pigmented with gray, the processed Arumã fiber gives structure to a multitude of indigenous ethnic patterns full of meaning.
The historical and artistic value of each Amazonian craft made by women, along with sustainability, is maintained throughout the entire production process – from the handling of the arumã plant on the banks of a stream.
