The ethnic mask with support is a handcrafted work by Curral da Cor inspired by traditional African masks. Both the sculpture of the wooden mask and the colorful artistic painting - specialties of the Minas Gerais atelier in Prados-MG - exhibit characteristics intrinsic to the cultures of the different African ethnic groups, highlighting the aesthetics of the ritualistic accessory as a differentiating element. By raising the mask on a fixed metal support, artisans from Minas Gerais highlight the artistic ensemble of the work of art in wood in interior decoration. The piece combines a classic triad of colors from African arts by using red, white and black to simulate ethnic designs and scarifications, authentically personalizing the decorative mask.
