This sculpture was made by the indigenous artist Célio Arago who lives in the territory of the Baré ethnic group, in Alto do Rio Negro, Brazil.
Célio's greatest inspiration is in the forest itself and in all the richness of its fauna and flora.
The rustic carvings together with the design inspired by the Amazonian stingray of the wooden sculpture, still gain a beautiful marquetry finish.
