Balaio Xoto Yanomami | natural vine

Located between Brazil and Venezuela, the Yanomami people have been perfecting the ancient art of weaving. Basketry is made by the women of the tribe, using natural materials such as titica vine.

The details in black thread, which appears to be plastic, make Yanomami basketry even more special, as it is a fungus known as "Perìsì", discovered by Yanomami women and used in the production of the pieces.

The handmade production process, the geometric pattern and the tribal designs, make each basket have its unique identity.
